POSITION: Residential Services Director
PROGRAM: Adult Residential Services Assigned homes
SCHEDULED WORK TIMES: Generally Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position. It may be necessary to occasionally work over 40 hours per week to complete duties associated with the job.
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Director of Adult Services
SUPERVISES:Directly supervises: Residential Program Managers. Indirectly supervises: all other Residential staff.
CLOSE WORKING RELATIONSHIP WITH: Director of Adult Services, Program Managers,
Employment Services Director and Coordinators, Residential Supervisors and DSP’s
Registered Nurses, other Administrative Team members;; individuals and families receiving
Abilis adult services. community and funding agency representatives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology or related field from accredited college or university.
Substitution for Education: Bachelors degree with a minimum of 8 years of supervising in a residential services program
Experience: Five years successful full time paid experience in a professional position providing services to people with disabilities with at least two of those five years in a supervisory role.
Substitution for Experience: A Ph.D. degree in special education, social work, psychology or related field may be substituted for two years of experience.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Residential Services Director assures the smooth day-to-day operation of Abilis’ adult residential services programs. The Director supervises and assists staff of the programs in implementing individualized support plans utilizing person-centered planning principles, providing meaningful in-service/professional education for direct support professionals and developing proposals for new activities/services.
The Residential Services Director may provide counseling and support to individuals, families and direct staff as necessary.
