    As the Associate Behavioral Health Director, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive psychiatric care in a clinic setting, working closely with patients families to promote positive mental health and well-being. You will also have the opportunity to build collaborative teams with other healthcare professionals and community partners.     Benefits:

    Compensation: $83,000-$104,900/year, depending on the years since licensed, a $10,000 yearly ABHD stipend, sign-on bonus, and excellent benefits: medical, dental, vision, Flexible Spending Accounts, dependent and domestic partner coverage, 403(b) retirement savings plan, and loan repayment programs, and commuter benefits. LifeLong qualifies for federal and state loan repayment programs (HPSA score is 16). Acceptance rates may vary year to year based on funding levels and the number of applicants.

    Responsibilities

    Administrative

  • Reviews and supports behavioral health staff to achieve productivity goals through administrative support and schedule management.
  • Hires, trains, and supervises psychosocial services staff in coordination with site leadership, including performance evaluations and personnel issues per agency guidelines.
  • Represents Psychosocial Services at health center meetings.
  • Represents the clinic at agency-wide meetings involving planning or providing psychosocial services.
  • Collaborates with Center Director, AMD, and other providers to develop and maintain integrated and responsive services, including team-based care, case management, information and referral, mental health, and substance use.
  • Meets with Associate Behavioral Health Directors throughout the agency to increase continuity and integration of services offered across sites.
  • Collaborates with Center Director and AMD in developing and implementing an operational budget to support psychosocial services.
  • Sets psychosocial caseload standards and oversee program quality and staff productivity.
  • Plans psychosocial service programs, develop systems and establishes protocols to meet funders' requirements and achieve quality improvement and assurance goals.
  • Ensures collaboration with outside social service agencies to facilitate referrals, service coordination, and educational in-services as needed.
  • Participates in planning and implementation of data collection and quality improvement activities related to psychosocial services and integrated care.

    Clinical

  • Provides individual psychotherapy, including crisis intervention services.
  • Develops and provide group educational and therapeutic services.
  • Maintains licensure to provide billable mental health services to clinic patients and provide supervision to licensed and pre-licensed staff.
  • Provides clinical supervision to patients and interns.
  • Qualifications

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with the California Board of Behavioral Science.
  • Demonstrated skills in assessing, diagnosing, and treating mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Experience with individual and group modalities, crisis intervention, and staff education and training.
  • Strong commitment to working with a low-income, ethnically diverse patient population.
  • Strong knowledge base in mental health and psychosocial issues particular to the clinic’s client population.

    Education and Experience 

     

  • Master's Degree in Social Welfare.
  • Three years of experience in the supervision of clinical social workers and social service support staff.
  • Completion of BBS-required 15-hour course in clinical supervision.
  • Experience in a publicly funded mental health program, community health center, and/or social service agency serving the clinic’s particular client population preferred.
  • Experience in program planning, budgeting, staff development, and grant writing.
