Residential Living Assistant is responsible for assisting residents with daily activities in a skilled nursing, assisted living, or similar facility. Assists with administering medications, documenting care provided, and communicating with healthcare professionals. Being a Residential Living Assistant may assist with the planning and executing of activities for residents on a regularly scheduled basis. May accompany residents on shopping trips, medical appointments, and other outings. Additionally, Residential Living Assistant requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Residential Living Assistant works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area.   • The Residential Manager is responsible for administrative, home and client tasks within First State

    Residential Living in support of the home and its clients as assigned by the Regional Home

    Manager.

    Administrative :

    • Therap Electronic Record Documentation

    o Ensure day-to-day documentation is uploaded

    o Daily audit of ISP notes for completion, quality of data and to ensure we maintain

    compliance

    o Ensure all documentation is uploaded for appointments

    o Verify medication changes are implemented

    o Verify menses and seizure documentation are entered in Therap

    o Oversee daily spending of the Personal Spending Record (PSR), update/reconcile

    the electronic record and complete the weekly/monthly Personal Spending Record

    audit summary

    o Quarterly reports for all clients

    • Participate in on-call for group homes
    • Backup scheduler for group homes when FSRL Scheduling & On-Call Coordinator is out of

    office or unavailable

    • Assist in ordering DME, tube feed, food by mouth and other products to support the clients
    • Assist the Regional Home Manager in daily operations
    • Ensure client appointments are scheduled within five (5) working days of receipt of order or

    as ordered by the prescriber

    • Complete a weekly audit on appointments to ensure accuracy and follow-up is completed
    • Attend weekly meetings with the Regional Home Manager and once a month staff meetings

    with the DSP’s

    • Ensure compliance with programmatic requirements, regulations and standards
    • Review, reconcile and respond to monthly consultative nursing audit
    • Review daily/weekly checklists
    • Complete quarterly incident meeting report and conduct quarterly meeting
    • Collaborate with HR, Operations, Compliance, Finance and any other team that supports

    the business and communicate updates to DSPs in the organization

    • Complete the weekly DDDS medication check form (MAR)
    • Oversee the daily DDDS medication check form to ensure staff completes them daily

    Home :

    • Daily & Weekly inventory check

    o Medications and supplies

    o Food for clients who eat by mouth

    o Formula for clients who eat by tube

    • Daily house maintenance check

    o Identify environmental issues and escalate to Regional Home Manager for fixing

    o Ensure the houses are as clean as possible, including garage and basement

    o Ensure a safe and livable environment

    o Ensure clients rooms are clean and organized

    • Manage cleanliness of homes

    o Ensure staff are completing their assigned tasks

    o Create chore lists and reorganize as needed

    • Weekly environmental check for each home to ensure standards are upheld
    • Escalate van issues to Regional Home Manager, check tire pressure once per month, and

    inflate tires as necessary with portable inflator

    • Monitor and order office and house supplies
    • Review temp logs
    • Manage quarterly fire drills
    • Manage and escalate technology issues

    Client

    • Create and implement activity calendars for each client
    • Coordinate client schedules for appointments, therapy, and activities to ensure they do not

    overlap with one another

    • Monthly inventory of DME and cycle delivery

    o Contact Medirents or other companies as required for each client

    • Oversee medical appointments

    o Ensure clients are at the appointment on time

    o Ensure documentation is uploaded to the appointment

    o Monitor appointment documentation for change in orders

    o Ensure initial and follow-up appointments are made according to DDDS standards

    • Attend all TPC, team building and PCP meetings for all clients
    • Monitor client progress towards goals and adjust service plans as needed
    • Attend client appointments if necessary
    • Maintain client support needs documents (update annually)
    • Coordinate new client admissions

    Staff :

    • Provide training and professional development opportunities for staff members
    • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork and

    collaboration between both the DSPs and Nurses

    • Escalate staffing issues to the FSRL Scheduling and On-Call Coordinator and address

    conflicts and concerns in a timely manner

    • Collaborate with nursing to address consumer healthcare issues, prescribed medications,

    discharge instructions, consumer specific adaptive equipment needs

    • Conduct new hire training
    • Train and monitor DSP’s documenting of goals and outcomes set at LSP meetings in Therap
    • Train DSPs on the following items:

    o UKERU

    o ISP notes

    o GER

    o T-logs

    o Iris clocks

    o PSRs

    Other duties as assigned
