Resteel Ironworker jobs in New Britain, CT
Resteel Ironworker installs reinforcing steel bars, cables, or wire in order to support concrete structures. May cut, bend, and/or weld steel construction materials. Being a Resteel Ironworker ensures proper placement and alignment according to blueprints and instructions. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Resteel Ironworker may be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Resteel Ironworker may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. - You must have the ability to read and understand contract drawings, erection drawings and fabrication drawings.
- Must have a minimum of OSHA 10 Hour Construction training
- Understand all proper Bolting and welding procedures to install structural systems per the plans and specifications.
- AWS D1.1 SMAW and FCAW certified
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- 2 years experience as a journeyman as an Ironworker
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills of safe Steel erection & rigging practices.
- Demonstrated ability to accurately layout and fabricate structural iron.
- Familiar with AISC Code of Standard Practice
- Ability to safely use of tools and related equipment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
Shift:
- 8 hour shift
Experience:
- Welding: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- OSHA 10 or 30 Training (Preferred)
