Retail Store Design Director coordinates the operational needs with marketing image of the store. Works with contractors to create the exterior and interior design concepts. Being a Retail Store Design Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Retail Store Design Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Retail Store Design Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Dependent on length of service, hours worked and any applicable collective bargaining agreement, benefits include healthcare, sick pay, PTO/Vacation pay and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401(k) eligibility).
