Retail Store Manager - Museum jobs in Rogers, AR

The Peel Compton Foundation is hiring for a part time Museum Store Sales Associate for the Peel Museum & Botanical Garden.   This is the ideal job for someone who has a passion for history and enjoys customer service.  

The Peel Compton Foundation is a premiere and growing nonprofit organization, located in Bentonville, AR. The foundation owns and operates the Peel Museum & Botanical Garden, Compton Gardens & Arboretum, Coler Mountain Bike Preserve, and Osage Park. The uniting mission for these diverse properties is to connect the community through nature, education, recreation, and preservation. Peel Compton Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.  

About the Position  

The part-time Museum Store Sales Associate reports to the Museum Manager and works in the museum store located in the historic Andy Lynch Log Cabin.

General Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to museum visitors and store customers
• Greet museum visitors and capture their information before tours
• Perform open and closing duties for the store and other areas of the property
• Monitor inventory levels and product expiration, along with general merchandising ensuring that products are displayed appropriately and are attractive to customers
• Price and stock new inventory in a timely manner
• Ensure the store is clean and inviting to customers
• Meet monthly sales goals 

Who we are seeking:  

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification
• Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a retail environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
• Works well independently and with light supervision
• Experience using POS and inventory management software
• Competent in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel
• Successfully pass a background check and drug screening
• Must be able to work weekends and occasional holidays
