With 16 brands located across the country, we are expanding our accounting team and are looking for a Revenue Accountant to work with a fast-growing Accounting and Finance team and directly support our leading Trade Brands in the HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing sectors. The candidate will become part of a welcoming, open-minded, and dedicated team that is committed to this candidate’s learning and career growth. In addition, upon joining the company, this candidate will have the opportunity to participate in standard benefits such as a 401k plan and medical/dental/vision insurance as well as participating in and/or organizing company social events.The candidate will work directly with the operations team as well as our Controller group (based in Columbia, MD) to perform the day-to-day responsibilities supporting the brands and help drive monthly close process as well as other special projects as the business expands. The role offers an opportunity to interact with senior management at the brand as well as the corporate team.The ideal candidate will be able to independently perform full revenue cycle functions and routine accounting / general ledger activities. A strong candidate should be driven and resourceful, with strong prioritization skills and an data analytical mindset. We’re looking for someone that has a desire to work in a challenging fast-paced environment that thrives in using process to produce accurate results that ultimately support growth.Responsibilities:
- Review and process all new franchise contracts into Company’s financial systems and revenue models.
- Responsible for monthly calculation, review and billing of revenue using enhanced financial models (including excel and CRM systems).
- Ensure accuracy of bi-weekly billing by completing appropriate quality checks, monitoring trends by location and reviewing any gaps in information or unusual items with Operations team.
- Monitor all complex accounts proactively to ensure accurate billing and resolution of any outstanding inquiries or issues
- Analyze monthly A/R aging and work together with Operations and supporting A/R team to successfully resolve outstanding balances
- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries and identify key trends requiring further investigation. Journal entries include but are not limited to GAAP adjustments to revenue, expense accruals,
- Responsible for key month-end close process including bank reconciliations, balance sheet account reconciliations, expense accruals and completion of ad-hoc journal entries or analysis as needed to prepare monthly financials.
- Provide assistance needed by auditors for quarterly and yearly review.
Qualifications:- 2 years of revenue cycle experience and accounting / finance support
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required
- Advanced Excel and Data Analysis skills
- Proficient with xlookup, variations of if statements, and pivots (query is an A )
- High level of quality awareness, accuracy and attention to detail required
- Deadline and process-oriented with a focus on customer experience and mindset
- Must be a proactive & highly organized self-starter with excellent communication skills
- Must be flexible, able to handle multiple priorities and work independently
