Revenue Accounting Director is responsible for the development and direction of revenue cycle management operations for the organization that optimize the patient financial interaction along the care continuum. Develops strategies to optimize operations and to ensure sufficient cash flow. Being a Revenue Accounting Director establishes targets, policies, and internal controls that will drive improvements and efficiencies in overall service revenue capture and collection. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and responsiveness to changes in requirements. Additionally, Revenue Accounting Director coordinates with stakeholders across the organization to drive optimal financial performance. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Typically reports to the cfo or top management. The Revenue Accounting Director manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments.     Job Summary and Qualifications


    Seeking a Revenue Integrity Analyst who will determine the appropriateness of patient charges and Charge Description Master (CDM) assigned HCPCS/CPTs by reviewing the medical record, facility protocol and other applicable documentation.     What you will do in this role:


    Determine the appropriateness of patient charges by verifying billing data for accuracy and completeness and by following regulatory requirements to resolve edits or exceptions.


    Apply modifiers when appropriate or make necessary adjustments to patient account charges and/or balances.


    Analyze accounts for specialized billing requirements that require a review of medical record documentation, regulatory information, and HCA standards.


    Combine or split accounts as appropriate.


    Serve as chargemaster liaison to facilitate clinical department education on appropriate charging of CPT codes and revenue codes.


    Serve as the liaison between facilities, shared service centers and ancillary department directors regarding charging issues, clinical documentation issues and revenue opportunities.


    Provide charge review results and develop and coordinate educational training for facility staff related to charging/billing issues.


    Coordinate retrospective, concurrent, patient requested and external billing audits.


    Review denial trends for documentation and charging opportunities.


    Review regulatory and compliance communications, applicable CMS transmittals and location coverage decisions and assess impact to revenue integrity procedures and implement changes as needed.


    What qualifications you will need:



    Associate degree or above OR a healthcare license/certification required.


    Minimum of 1 year directly related healthcare experience or coding experience required.


    Knowledge of CPT/HCPCS codes or experience in charging or performing charge validation reviews preferred.


    Healthcare certification/licensure such as RHIT, CCS, CCP, CPC or other recognized AHIMA certified coding credential, LPN, LVN, RT, PT etc can be accepted in lieu of degree with work experience.
