Revenue Cycle Director directs and oversees the overall policies, objectives, and initiatives of an organization's revenue cycle activities to optimize the patient financial interaction along the care continuum. Reviews, designs, and implements processes surrounding admissions, pricing, billing, third party payer relationships, compliance, collections, and other financial analyses to ensure that clinical revenue cycle is effective and properly utilized. Being a Revenue Cycle Director tracks numerous metrics related to the patient engagement cycle including record coding error rates and billing turnaround times to develop sound revenue cycle analysis and reporting. Manages relations with payers and providers to generate high reimbursement rates and a low level of denials. Additionally, Revenue Cycle Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Revenue Cycle Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Revenue Cycle Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.   • Job Summary

    The Revenue Cycle Liaison supports clinic leadership for assigned clinics. The Revenue Cycle Practice Liaison reviews revenue cycle performance and develops action plans for metrics not meeting established goals.  The position also coordinates efforts to create a consistent registration and financial counseling patient experience at all clinics and ensures appropriate controls and tools are in place to monitor performance and compliance with regulatory requirements.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Serve as the internal revenue cycle liaison for local clinic leadership for assigned clinics, responding to stakeholder needs and supporting revenue cycle projects. 
    • Educate and support new staff in the clinics on revenue cycle processes such as Registration, Work Queues, Co-Pay Collections. 
    • Consult with managers and revenue cycle when issues arise; develop and communicate action plans and provide ongoing updates to all appropriate parties. 
    • Work with clinic leadership to ensure understanding of revenue cycle processes and metrics. Perform root cause analysis, identify and assess trends, and develop action plans for metrics not meeting established goals. 
    • Develop presentations and reports to communicate revenue cycle clinic performance to key clinic stakeholders. 
    • Provide onsite support for key meetings and explain/interpret data and results in key performance areas, as appropriate. 
    • Coordinate implementation of policies and processes that ensure a consistent, compliant registration and financial counseling experience across all clinics. 
    • Draft executive status summaries for various meetings.  Document outcomes and track completion of activities. 
    • Implement audit processes to ensure policies and processes are being adhered to. Develop executive-level reporting to share key findings and next steps. Work with training department on necessary curriculum to improve deficiencies. 
    • Work with clinicians to improve workflows that impact financial outcomes. 
    • Consistently supports the compliance and principles of responsibility by maintaining confidentiality, protecting the assets for the organization, acting with integrity, reporting observed fraud and abuse and complies with applicable state, federal and local laws, program policies and procedures. 
    • Other duties as assigned. 

    Education Requirements

    • Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent
    • Preferred: Associate degree in a related field 

    Experience Requirements

    • Minimum: Two (2) years physician office billing /revenue cycle experience and one (1) year of EPIC experience
