SUMMARY
This position is responsible for assisting the Area Director of Revenue Management in maximizing room revenue by implementing and monitoring effective inventory management and pricing strategies for the hotel. The position is expected to fully understand various data sources (internal and external) in order to extract relevant data to build reports and models that support revenue management decisions, liaise among departments within the hotel, as well as external partners, to align strategies that maximize revenue, and navigate CRO, CRM, and Channel Management Systems to implement strategies. Position may be required to perform work for other Ace Hotel locations and projects on occasion.
CORE FOCUS & ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Qualified candidates must be able to satisfactorily complete the following responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned.
Analyze trends and demand forecasts to set/adjust sales strategies designed to increase market share, grow RevPAR, and optimize market mix.
Analyze and monitor pickup daily to manage day-to-day inventory and rate yielding, and implement strategies on all distribution channels.
Monitor daily reservations and rate reports to ensure accuracy.
Monitor competitor rates, positioning, strategies, and data.
Work with OTA partners and Channel Management Systems to maintain rate parity across all public channels.
Communicate revenue forecast and strategies; work closely with other departments to maximize revenues.
Understand the dynamics of the local market and demand generators and present appropriate action plans to the Director.
Prepare weekly and monthly revenue management reports and facilitate revenue strategy meetings.
Monitor guest and group data in Opera.
Work with Reservations and Sales teams to manage group blocks and project accurate forecasts.
Distribute weekly operations forecasts.
Compile raw data into ad hoc reports quickly and accurately
Conduct quality control checks in PMS/CRS input to ensure data accuracy and follow up with Reservations Manager as appropriate.
Validate and report relevant data to STR and PKF in an accurate and timely manner.
Maintain full understanding of the rooms revenue strategies at all times.
Attend hotel operations meetings.
SUPPORTING FUNCTIONS
In addition to the core focus & responsibilities, the candidate is expected to complete the following duties:
Be able to make day-to-day yielding decisions as well as quote rates for groups and special requests in the absence of the Area Director of Revenue Management.

REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in hotel management, business administration, finance, or similar field is required. Previous experience working in a hotel or hospitality setting is required. Previous experience working in Reservations, Rooms, and/or Sales departments is preferred. Previous experience using Opera, Delphi, Synxis, Siteminder, Duetto, Cendyn, or other hotel Information Systems is preferred. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required.
