Rig Operator is responsible for operation of the rig, crew, and equipment and for ensuring customer satisfaction with all services rendered. Ensures that all crew are at the rig and ready to work at scheduled time. Being a Rig Operator maintains productivity standards for all rig functions. Maintains a safe working environment and ensures compliance of applicable regulations and policies. Additionally, Rig Operator may require a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Rig Operator supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Rig Operator typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Ensures that product is moved through the facility at the appropriate times.
Responsibilities
Monitors system which includes : Observing pressure, temperature and relative humidity measurements on charts or computer monitors.
Turning valves and adjusting controls to ensure the safe operation of the equipment. Observing sterilizers and auxiliary units to detect malfunctions and assisting with repairs as needed.
Documenting and recording process readings. Reports any damaged product to the Shift Supervisor or Process Supervisor. Reports system problems to the Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Technician.
