Rig Operator is responsible for operation of the rig, crew, and equipment and for ensuring customer satisfaction with all services rendered. Ensures that all crew are at the rig and ready to work at scheduled time. Being a Rig Operator maintains productivity standards for all rig functions. Maintains a safe working environment and ensures compliance of applicable regulations and policies. Additionally, Rig Operator may require a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Rig Operator supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Rig Operator typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Efficiently set-up, operate and perform preventative maintenance to the interfolding equipment in accordance with manufacturing orders (MO) and the production schedule.
Compliance with company operating, safety and housekeeping procedures, practices, and policies.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Set-up, operate and adjust interfold equipment to manufacturing order (MO), Standard Operating Conditions (SOC) and to production schedule requirements.
Inspect product for size, appearance, count and other requirements to ensure that the product meets quality specifications.
Perform preventative and production maintenance for routine repairs by utilizing hand and power tools.
Utilizes lubricants on machinery as needed.
Understand and interpret production requirements by manufacturing orders (MO) as well as written and verbal instructions.
Organize work area in a clean and efficient manner to perform processes according to established standards, productivity levels, housekeeping, and safety requirements.
Inform supervisor of operating deviations or mechanical problems when they occur.
Follow all safety guidelines and regulations outlined in the Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS : High school or trade school graduate or equivalent GED with 1-2 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
Excellent mechanical ability and manual dexterity.
Able to read and understand Manufacturing Orders (MO), Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and use common machine measuring equipment.
Basic reading and math skills.
Good communication skills and the ability to work well with others in a team environment.
