Right of Way Agent prepares organization's need for additional land or office space. Researches, negotiates and elects to purchase short- and long-term lease of land agreements and right of way for construction that meet the organization's goals. Being a Right of Way Agent handles all land related legal issues, including transfers of titles and deeds, construction, mortgage concerns, and zoning. Prepares resolutions and other legal forms related to land acquisitions. Additionally, Right of Way Agent may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Right of Way Agent contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.     United Way of Central Jersey’s VITA program provides IRS certified volunteer tax preparers to prepare, validate and submit federal and state income tax returns for individuals with incomes at or lower than $70,000 per year.  The VITA program also has certified assistance volunteers to prepare ITIN applications and renewals for individuals without a social security number.

    Annually, the VITA program preparers over 3,000 tax returns and requires an experienced administrative assistant to assist with tax client management, creating a welcoming environment for tax clients, assisting tax clients who call with questions or to request an appointment and general office administrative tasks.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Answering telephone calls in a friendly, warm and informative manner.
    • Scheduling tax client appointments at VITA tax locations.
    • Scheduling tax clients to retrieve their tax documents provided to UWCJ at various community partner locations.
    • Welcoming tax clients to the VITA office for their tax appointments in a friendly and warm manner.
    • Support VITA professional staff and volunteer tax preparers when needed.

    Qualifications:

    • Fluency in Spanish required.
    • Communication skills and cultural competency to assist a variety of tax clients.
    • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel) Training will be provided for the VITA scheduling software, Acuity.
    • Flexibility to re-prioritize workflow when needed.
    • A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and documentation of vehicle liability insurance as required by UWCJ’s liability insurance carrier.

    This is a full-time temporary position during the January – April peak tax season with work hours Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.  Salary will depend on experience.  To apply please send your resume to pdesiderio@uwcj.org
