Right of Way (ROW) Maintenance Laborer
Position located in Gallipolis, OH
Position Summary
A Right of Way (ROW) Maintenance Laborer is responsible for working with the Foreperson to assure the job site is set up properly. This position services and maintains equipment, directs traffic, and cleans up the job site. A Right of Way (ROW) Maintenance Laborer will assist the Foreperson by working on the ground, using tools, and operating zero turn mowers, while providing assistance when needed to all aspects of the job scope and priorities.
Duties and Responsibilities Include
Essential Duties:
- Performs job safety with crew members, including knowledge and use of personal protective equipment, CPR/First Aid, rescue drills, and job task certifications
- Maintains all equipment inspection paperwork
- Performs inspection and maintenance of equipment
- Completes and maintains daily records, time-sheets, and reports related to the performance of the crew operations
- Receives and interprets orders from the General Foreperson
- Plans and lays out daily work for the crew
- Assigns work for individual crew members and directs crews in performing work
- Promotes and maintains good customer service and public relations through effective completion of assigned work and the appropriate behavior of employees on the crew
- Safeguards the public from hazards in and around work areas
- Conducts field training/retraining and instructs crews on new or revised job units
- Works in all temperatures and weather and will be exposed to nature, such as irritating plants and biting or stinging insects, dust, etc.
- Works at varying heights above ground and on unlevel terrain

What You'll Bring to the Team
- Minimum of at least two (2) years experience in zero turn mower and weed eater operations
- Must possess or obtain appropriate herbicide applicator's license, when state requires
- Demonstrates knowledge on occupational hazards and safety precautions
- Ability to read and understand work orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual
- Ability to operate and service all assigned equipment required for the job
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record per Company requirements
- Knowledge of essential job functions and responsibilities

- Meet all physical requirements of the position
- Pass all drug and alcohol screens as required by Company policy and, if applicable, required by DOT regulations
- 18 years of age or older, or 21 if CDL is required
