Risk Management Director - Healthcare develops and administers risk management programs. Creates and modifies policies to comply with safety legislation, JCAHO, HIPAA, and industry practices. Being a Risk Management Director - Healthcare coordinates and develops hospital-wide programs for quality patient care and risk-free services. Acts as the liaison to attorneys, insurance companies, and individuals. Additionally, Risk Management Director - Healthcare investigates any incidences that may result in an asset loss. Oversees insurance designed to protect the health system from loss. Collects information related to the claims and lawsuits made against the health system. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Risk Management Director - Healthcare typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Responsibilities 

    Manage operations of Quality Assurance/Review functions hospital-wide including liaison to all departments on issues such as Quality Assurance/Review, risk management, patient advocacy, etc. as defined by Administrative and Quality Assurance/Review policies and procedures to provide competent, efficient, safe, quality patient care; and to ensure compliance with federal/state, and accrediting organizations.
     
    Design, implement and monitor the Quality/Safety Patient plan and ensure goals are met continuously.
    Work closely with the Leadership team in ensuring that the Joint Commission standards and the State regulations are met regarding the quality of patient care and assist with the Life/Safety standards
    Review and investigate all incident reports
    Collaboratively design and monitor all action plans as needed.
    Works collaboratively with senior leadership, hospital leaders, physicians, and staff to reduce risk and promote quality patient care and safety.

    Qualifications
    At least twenty-one (21) years of age
     
    Bachelor's Degree in relatable field is preferred, combination of education and experience required

    Requires two (2) or more years clinical experience in inpatient services for children, adolescent, geriatric, and families in either an acute, residential or outpatient setting.

    Knowledgeable about Joint Commission, State and Federal guidelines pertaining to inpatient/residential treatment.
    Excellent communication and presentation skills
    1 year in Quality Improvement and knowledge of psychiatric service delivery system and treatment methods, with specific knowledge and skills in areas of risk management
