Risk Management Director manages and administers an organization's risk-management programs. Implements policies, procedures, and controls to monitor and minimize the risk exposure of assets. Being a Risk Management Director researches internal and external risk factors including economic, market, and regulatory risks that may affect the organization. Routinely evaluates the effectiveness of procedures and collaborates with internal stakeholders to monitor changes in the business environment. This position provides university safety and risk management best practices within all departments to contribute to the academic mission of Grambling State University. The Director of Safety and Risk Management provides broad-based expertise to University clients in three primary areas related to assigned specialized safety/health programs: Environmental Compliance (e.g. hazardous waste management, emergency response planning, and asbestos/lead management), Occupational Health & Safety (e.g. laboratory safety, indoor airs quality, fire protection, accident/injury prevention) and Radiation Protection (e.g. use of and disposal of radioactive materials). Reports to the Chief Operating Officer.
