Risk Manager manages and administers an organization's risk-management programs. Implements policies, procedures, and controls to monitor and minimize the risk exposure of assets. Being a Risk Manager researches internal and external risk factors including economic, market, and regulatory risks that may affect the organization. Routinely evaluates the effectiveness of procedures and collaborates with internal stakeholders to monitor changes in the business environment. Additionally, Risk Manager manages statistical analysis and designing of financial models to predict the risk exposure of an organization's assets. Reviews risk analysis reports to ensure risks are identified and managed effectively. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Risk Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Risk Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Job Summary:

    The Account Manager will be responsible for servicing a book of Commercial Lines accounts.

     

    Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

    The duties of the Account Manager include, but are not limited to:

    • Responsible for servicing a commercial book of business-  marketing, underwriting, servicing, renewal negotiation, risk analysis, consulting, problem resolution, reviewing and rating

    • Maintain productive business relations and engage in extensive contact with clients, producers and underwriters

    • Ensure client has continuous and proper coverage and advise client of any change recommendations

    • Review current policies and provide recommendations regarding placement options. Utilize coverage checklist and a network of industry contacts to determine appropriate coverage and premiums

    • Rounding out and cross selling book of business to reach agency/department growth goals

    • Responsible for the integrity of policies and related documents

    • Apply knowledge of coverages and forms to research and reconcile discrepancies

    • Participate in the development of new business and retention of renewal business. Interact with producers to prepare specifications, applications, underwriting data and related information in the marketing of insurance products

    • Produce business proposals and deliver presentations to clients

    • Participate in business meetings, client conferences and educational seminars

    • Assist in coordinating reports for management

    • Manage all aspects of account administrations

    • Handle bookkeeping matters, including but not limited to: maintaining account receivables, monthly statement, not-paid-not-billed lists, and non-payment cancellations

    • All other duties as assigned by management as needed

       

    Requirements and Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 5 years of commercial brokerage experience servicing accounts
    • Valid MA P&C brokers’ license
    • College degree preferred
    • Must possess a developing knowledge of commercial insurance markets to place new/renewal business
    • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Demonstrate proficiency in computer applications, esp. Microsoft Office Suite
    • Exceptional organization and time-management skills
    • Knowledge of agency management systems, AMS 360 and WorkSmart preferred
    • Self-starter, professional and assertive
    • Be able to handle a fast-paced, challenging work environment
