DEPOSIT OPERATIONS CLERK
Reporting to the Vice President Branch Administration, this position performs assigned duties and responsibilities associated with back-office retail banking office functions within the institution. The position will provide to the incumbent basic training in retail, accounting and deposit operations.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Process, verify and file debit and ATM card applications including monitoring limits
- Process RIM, return overdraft ACH’s from RIM, repost no account checks
- Process POS and ATM charge backs (Reg E compliance)
- Check signatures over $10,000.00 and mail ISF notices
- Balance and process ACH rejects, check previous days ACH rejects postings
- Originate ACH transactions
- Process returned checks (returned deposited items)
- Verify stop payments
- Process foreign checks through Bankers Bank
- Monitor accounts with outstanding ISF charges or negative balances, send letters, close accounts and report customers to E-Funds
- Assist employees and customers with deposit operations research
- Review file maintenance activities of retail banking, ensuring all policies and procedures are adhered to appropriately.
- Primary recipient of customer phone calls from the “phone tree”; offer solutions to customer issues, or transfer to appropriate staff member/department for assistance.
OTHER FUNCTIONS- Attend trainings as required
- Performs other duties as needed or assigned
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES- High School Diploma and two years banking experience
- Ability to interact and work professionally with all Bank departments
- Proficiency with basic accounting skills
- Ability to organize information and communicate effectively
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
- Ability to work effectively individually and in a team environment
- Ability to read, speak and write the English language
- Ability to be flexible
PHYSICAL DEMANDS- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 10 lbs. on occasion.
