JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Safety Coordinator to join our growing team.
Summary
The
Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Coordinator will assist with the site environmental, health and safety initiatives. They will assist the site EH&S Manager with establishing site specific policies and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory and JELD-WEN Global EH&S requirements, prevent injuries & illnesses, and help create a strong EH&S culture.
Responsibilities
- Train employees to recognize hazards and risks and lead the line organization in identifying and controlling hazards and risks.
- Conduct environmental, health, and safety inspections.
- Manage emergency procedures and conduct drills
- Conducting monthly safety trainings such as Life Critical Safety Rules, forklift, MEWP, etc.
- Provide first aid to employees
- Assist with workers compensation claims
- Send nightly reporting to EHS Manager or designee
- Ensure employees are wearing the appropriate PPE for the task
- Assist in incident investigations and develop corrective actions.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- A strong understanding of JELD-WEN’s Life Critical Safety Rules
- OSHA 30 certification (preferred)
- 1-3 years’ experience in manufacturing
- Strong communication skills
- Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus
- Knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and computer basics
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Exemplary customer service skills and attention to detail
- Analytical skills to analyze safety and health data
