Safety Director directs, develops, and oversees the general health and safety policies and procedures of the organization. Ensures the workplace is in compliance with OSHA and other state, local, or industry specific regulations and that periodic safety audits are conducted. Being a Safety Director provides programs that ensure a safe workplace including safety orientations, skill training, emergency preparedness, proper job instruction, hazardous material disposal procedures, and the use of protective equipment. Develops a systemic process to collect data and analyze the causes of accidents and generate required reporting. Additionally, Safety Director implements initiatives to reduce and prevent accidents, occupational illnesses, and exposure to long-term health hazards. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Safety Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. The Director of Procurement is responsible for building and leading RSS's Procurement organization and proactively managing the company's annual Direct and Indirect spend. This role will serve as the strategic head of the Procurement team by establishing long-term and short-term objectives and strategies aligned with the company's mission and overall strategic goals related to growth, cost savings, supply continuity, and risk management. The Director of Procurement will develop and execute a strategic vision for Procurement across the company and will elevate Procurement's status by meeting and exceeding internal stakeholder expectations to earn the respect of senior leaders across the company.
The Director of Procurement will also be tasked with acting as a change agent, furthering the deployment of best-in-class procurement capabilities and governance structures where strategic sourcing is driven from a company-wide perspective. The Director of Procurement is expected to implement innovative improvements to Procurement procedures, processes and systems to maximize efficiency and effectiveness. Strong relationship building skills and the ability to interface at all levels of the enterprise will help this person successfully manage any resistance and work through the challenges common with rapid growth and organizational change.
