SUMMARY Responsible for assisting with company-wide safety program – the development, and administration of all safety policies and procedures. The Safety Manager will establish reliable methods for improving safety performance and creating a safe and healthy work environment for all employees, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and compliance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Promote safety integrity throughout the entire company
- Monitor safety compliance
- Plans, implements and conducts preventative care, safety, and compliance training programs
- High level of communication with job site managers, and local, federal, and state agencies such as MSHA, OSHA, and DOT
- Capable of preparing, tailoring, and presenting training topics to large groups to the level and experience of the audience
- Administer, monitor, and ensure the completeness and accuracy of accident reports and investigations
- Collect, analyze, and maintain safety statistics and injury and illness records
- Facilitate MSHA, OSHA, and DOT safety training
- Conduct job site inspections
- Train new and existing Safety Superintendents
- Write Toolbox Talks
- Can interpret and adopt new Federal/ State regulations
- Accident and incident investigations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in safety management preferred but not required
- 10-12 years of experience in construction safety
- Overnight travel and flexibility to travel with little to no notice is required
- Position is based out of our Goshen corporate office
- Experience in OSHA Construction (1926 & 1910) compliance preferred
- Knowledge in MSHA & DOT rules and regulations
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office essential
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Self-motivated; ability to work independently
- Good written and verbal communication skills
