Safety Representative jobs in Johnstown, PA
Safety Representative outlines and implements training programs to educate and inform workforce on work safety, environmental safety, and accident prevention regulations and procedures. Develops and distributes educational materials including videos, guides, and posters. Being a Safety Representative tracks and documents accidents to understand causes and recommend changes to prevent future accidents. Performs inspections and audits of facilities, equipment and processes recommending corrections or additional precautions to ensure compliance to established regulations. Additionally, Safety Representative has a broad and current knowledge of all government and applicable industry safety regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Safety Representative works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed. Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute health and safety plans/training in the workplace
- Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety
- Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention
- Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions
- Investigate accidents or incidents
- Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures
- Prepare safety permits/approvals
- Provide professional expertise
Requirements
- College degree preferred or relative job experience
- Ability to work all shifts (day/night/weekends)
- Willing to travel
- Good communication skills
- Proficient Word/Excel/Powerpoint
- Valid Driver's License
