Position Overview
The Health and Safety Coordinator will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing health and safety programs and procedures to ensure a safe workplace. This role aims to enhance safety awareness, compliance with regulations, and promote a culture of safety within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Provide training and education to employees on health and safety practices.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor and report on health and safety performance metrics.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure safety protocols are followed in all operations.
- Stay updated on health and safety regulations and industry best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Safety, or related field.
- Certification in Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA) is preferred.
- Experience with food safety standards (PCQI, HACCP) and regulatory compliance.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Process Safety Management (PSM) principles.
- Strong understanding of environmental and industrial hygiene practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
