Job Summary:

We are currently seeking a skilled Fire Extinguisher Technician to join our team. This position will have great growth potential. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, servicing, maintaining, and repairing fire extinguishers and other fire suppression systems to ensure they are in optimal working condition and comply with all safety regulations and standards. This position plays a crucial role in protecting our clients facilities, employees, and visitors from fire hazards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of fire extinguishers, fire suppression systems, and emergency lighting systems to ensure compliance with NFPA standards and local fire codes.
• Perform on-site services including, but not limited to, recharging, repairing, and replacing fire extinguishers and their components.
• Identify and report any defects or non-compliance issues found during inspections and carry out necessary corrections or repairs.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections, maintenance activities, and repair work performed.
• Provide training and demonstrations to staff on the proper use and maintenance of fire extinguishers and safety protocols.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest fire safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
• Coordinate with fire safety equipment suppliers for the procurement of parts and supplies.
• Participate in safety audits and contribute to the continuous improvement of fire safety policies and procedures.
• Offer exceptional customer service, addressing any concerns or questions regarding fire safety equipment and procedures.

Qualifications and Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent; certification or degree in a related field is a plus.
• Proven experience as a Fire Extinguisher Technician or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of fire safety regulations, NFPA standards, and local fire codes.
• Ability to interpret safety data sheets and technical manuals.
• Proficient in using hand tools and equipment used in fire extinguisher maintenance and repair.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a clean driving record.
• Certification from a recognized fire safety organization is highly desirable.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

• This role requires frequent standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 pounds), and climbing.
• Must be able to work in various environments, including confined spaces and at heights.
• Availability to respond to emergency call-outs outside of regular working hours.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.96 - $21.39 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday

• Columbus, IN 47203: Relocate before starting work (Required)
