Position Summary | The Health Sciences Center (HSC) Office of Research (OoR) is seeking a knowledgeable, detail-oriented and self-motivated Project Manager to be part of the dynamic team. Under indirect supervision, this position plays a pivotal role, providing direct support to the Vice President for Research (VPR) and Fiscal Operations Director. This position will work directly with the New Mexico Workforce Development (NMWD) committees and VPR to lead the efforts in collecting, compiling and analyzing data in order to produce and write the annual report. This includes coordinating, contacting and following-up with the, Board of Nursing, Department of Health, Emergency Medical Services, and Medical Board to obtain the required data. The NM Legislature passed HB19 – the Health Care Work Force Data Collection, Analysis and Policy Act – and the following occurred: - Licensure boards are required to develop surveys on practice characteristics. - Licensure data was directed to UNM HSC for stewardship and storage. - The establishment of the New Mexico Health Workforce Committee, to include state-wide constituents. - The Committee is required to evaluate the state’s workforce needs and make recommendations. - Every year the committee will present a thorough report to the legislature, the executive, and the executive’s cabinet. Moreover, this position will provide administrative support for the Top Slice Committee meetings and other various high-level research driven meetings lead by the VPR. In addition, this position will be responsible for the annual Research Equipment Award process. In order to excel in this position, the selected candidate will be self-motivated and poses strong attention to detail and organizational skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. They should demonstrate previous technical writing experience, project management, experience with working with data sets and analytical experience, in addition to taking minutes, following-up on tasks, and communicating with all levels of faculty/staff and leadership. Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Manage the process and execution of the annual NMWD report. To include: a. Technical writing and project management b. Work with key stakeholders to collect medical workforce data c. Maintains the availability and integrity of data sets d. Facilitates the sharing of NMWD data by ensuring that each data set has proper key and index management and ensures the data dictionary is maintained e. Identify reporting needs and issues to effectively translate them to actionable requirements consistent with the tasks required to produce the NMWD report f. Implements integrated analytics to be included in the New Mexico Workforce Development report; interprets and communicates the results utilizing statistical and data analysis techniques. 2. Manage and execute the annual Research Equipment Award process and the Excellence in Faculty Awards. 3. Supervise administrative staff. 4. Oversee Top Slice Committee meetings and other various high-level meetings. 5. Track both state and federal legislative priorities submitted by the HSC. 6. Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
