Sales Director directs sales organization operations and develops the tactics, operational plans, and processes to implement the organizational sales strategy, drive revenue growth, and accomplish financial objectives. Establishes and implements processes, tools, and structures to support the sales organization's operations. Being a Sales Director oversees goal setting for departmental and group levels of the sales organization and uses data and technology to measure and monitor sales processes, identify issues, and enhance performance. General Summary: The Director of Sales for our family of attractions plays a pivotal role in driving revenue and fostering partnerships within the leisure, education, and convention sectors. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales initiatives to maximize attendance and revenue across the zoo, aquarium, and insectarium. The position involves managing relationships with leisure groups, school groups, and convention organizers while also overseeing third-party partnerships. The position is a base salary plus commission compensation.
To deliver on the Audubon mission, the Director of Sales will:
Provide a guest experience of outstanding quality
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, addressing their needs, and ensuring a positive experience during their visit.
• Proactively identify and cultivate relationships with leisure groups, tour operators, and travel agencies to increase group visitation to our attractions.
• Collaborate with educational institutions to promote our attractions as valuable learning experiences. Develop tailored programs and packages for school groups.
• Cultivate and manage relationships with third-party channels and affiliates to enhance the attractions' visibility and reach.
• Actively pursue partnerships with convention organizers to position our family of attractions as preferred venues for pre and post-event activities.
Operate a financially self-sufficient collection of museums and parks.
• Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve attendance and revenue targets for leisure, school, and convention groups.
• Negotiate terms and contracts in coordination with SVP of Business Development, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements that meet revenue and attendance goals.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor offerings, and customer preferences to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
Educate our diverse audience about the natural world
• Prepare compelling proposals and presentations to showcase the unique offerings of our mission-based attractions and attract diverse groups.

Experience:
• Proven experience in sales, preferably in the tourism, hospitality, or entertainment industry.
• Strong understanding of the leisure, education, and convention markets.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
• Experience in developing and maintaining client relationships.
• Knowledge of the attractions industry and familiarity with zoo, aquarium, or insectarium operations is a plus.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, or related field
Licensure/Certification: not applicable.
Software Requirements: Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Machinery/Tools/Equipment Requirements: Must have the ability to use mobile devices, computer, fax, scanner, phone and copy machine.
Physical Requirements:
