WiTricity is seeking an experienced Sales Engineer to be based in Munich, Germany and join our Global Sales team. This role will work closely with our Head of Sales, Europe, to prospect, qualify and close deals with automotive OEM’s, Fleet Operators, Electric Utilities/CPOs, Car Sharing/MAAS (Mobility As A Service) and Charging Infrastructure Providers. You will interface with engineers at customer sites and internally to determine the benefits, value, cost, and key features of WiTricity’s Wireless Charging Systems for EV’s. You will be responsible for building relationships with potential customers and communicating product performance requirements to internal and external stakeholders.
This role is open to candidates currently located, or plan to relocate, to the Greater Munich metropolitan area. This role requires up to 75% of travel across Europe, and fluency in German and English languages.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Head of Sales, Europe, and global sales team to identify and qualify new business opportunities with automotive OEM’s/ Fleet Operators, Electric Utilities, Car Sharing/MAAS and Charging Infrastructure Providers
- Develop a deep understanding of the market & customer`s strategy & needs including customer roadmaps and technical trends. Provide market and customer feedback to the organization; Act as a subject matter expert on WiTricity’s wireless charging solutions and stay up to date on industry trends and competitive offerings.
- Lead technical discussions with customers and prospects, answering questions and providing guidance on technical features, functionality, and integration.
- Proactively manage the complete sales and offer management (automotive RFI/RFQ) process, including prospecting, qualification, consultative sales meetings, customer product demos, pricing, terms negotiations, and management of the OEM procurement platforms
- Conduct in-depth technical presentations, pre-sales workshops, webinars, and other online/onsite events as needed.
- Professionally represent and promote WiTricity at tradeshows, conferences, and other events within the territory.
- Develop technical content and collateral to support sales and marketing initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with marketing and product management on campaigns and content for educating top-of-funnel customers and driving sales.
- Establish and maintain strong industry contacts and trusting relationships. Continually compile market information/intelligence on trends and developments within territory to inform company strategy.
- Collaborate across the team to share ideas from interactions with customers that could improve WiTricity’s solutions.
Requirements:
- BS degree in Engineering or related discipline; Electrical Engineering strongly preferred. Advanced degree a plus.
- 10 years of experience working with customers in a pre-sales or technical sales position, preferably in the automotive industry, for a Tier 1 supplier.
- Ability to influence stakeholders based on your technical sales acumen and a solid understanding of business processes.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to present and communicate from shop-floor up to C-level executives, board members, and key stakeholders.
- Ability to participate in speaking engagements in front of large audiences, on stage, in front of cameras, etc.
- Previous experience managing hardware and/or software product evaluations.
- Basic understanding of electronics and electrical systems.
- Fluency in German and English required. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- Travel up to 75% to customer sites and trade shows across Europe is required for this role.
- Automotive industry experience preferred.
