    JOB SUMMARY: The purpose of this position is to supervise the ordering, delivery, storage, and distribution of medical supplies to the nursing staff.

    MAIN DUTIES:
    A.
    Support the facility's philosophy of care and strive to achieve its goals and objectives.
    B.
    Order all nursing supplies to maintain a sufficient stock of all items needed to provide for residents' care.
    C.
    Maintain within budget and optimum economization the purchase of all nursing supplies.
    D.
    Accept deliveries of all nursing supplies and verify accuracy of amounts with the order form at the time of delivery.
    E.
    Maintain cleanliness, orderliness and time sequencing of supplies in the medical storage room.
    F.
    Bring needed supplies to nurses' stations according to supply orders and check floors for overstocking.
    G.
    Ensure correct disposal of "filled sharp containers" and schedule medical waste pickup with contracted company when needed.
    H.
    Call Medical transport companies to arrange transportation of residents to and from doctor's appointments, dialysis, non-emergency hospital appointments, and any other approved medical services as assigned, as applicable.
    I.
    Keep complete record of all transportation reservations including:
    a) date
    b) time
    c) destination
    d) actual pickup and delivery
    e) contact person
    J.
    Maintain the confidentiality of resident information and honor his/her personal and property rights.

    Follow established fire, disaster, safety, infection control, and evacuation policies and procedures.
    .
    Perform other related duties as directed by the DON and Administrator.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    1.
    A high school diploma or B.A. in a business-related field is preferred.

    2.
    Some business training or experience is preferred.
