Volunteer Coordinator/Restore Counseling Administrative Assistant | Part-time 25 hrs/week
The Volunteer Coordinator recruits, retains, and trains adult volunteers. The Volunteer Coordinator reports to the Director of Development. This position must be available to travel all over NWA. Must be available some evenings and weekends. The right candidate must be organized, self-motivated, enthusiastic, community-driven and have a favorable view of teens. This role is 15 hours per week. Must be available to work some evenings and weekends.
Responsibilities:
- Recruit and market volunteer opportunities for TASC by using various strategies to recruit and secure volunteers including attending volunteer fairs and tabling events. Interviews, evaluates, and places volunteers based on volunteer job descriptions and available volunteer opportunities.
- Works with directors/coordinators to develop policies and procedures for volunteers and educates/communicates them to staff and volunteers. Work with directors/coordinators to design, implement, evaluate and update relevant training and programs for various volunteer positions. Reviews Policies and Procedures and updates as needed annually.
- Gathers required documentation and clearances for each volunteer per policy and compliance standards; and retains originals in volunteer file(s). Maintains documentation of education/training sessions. Provides the required amount of training and supervision sessions per year. Reviews and regularly records (no less than quarterly) to ensure requirements are met.
- Ensure appropriate documentation is kept in the database management system for volunteers as requested. Conducts annual performance evaluations with each volunteer.
- Provides volunteers with appropriate recognition for their contributions to the agency. Organizes and holds a yearly recognition function for volunteers.
- Participates in and attends all required meetings, training, and supervisory sessions. Meets regularly with the Director of Development, openly communicates needs, concerns, and ideas, and utilizes feedback in supervisory sessions.
- Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with teens as well as articulately and professionally with community organizations and colleagues.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Skills & Abilities Required:
- Passion for and experience working with teens is a must!
- Background checks and driving records are required.
- Frequently required to work at a fast pace.
- Requires considerable concentration and creativity.
- Must manage time efficiently.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
- Experience with Google products, Microsoft, and Mac products required, and be comfortable with technology.
The Teen Action and Support Center is a 501c3 nonprofit organization which offers low-to-no-cost support services to teens and their families. Services include counseling & support groups, mentoring, volunteer service opportunities, innovative programming, and physical resources for teens in need.

Pay: $16.00 - $17.50 per hour
