D1 Shreveport is looking for a knowledgeable, fun, and personable individual to lead our adult fitness program! This person will be the instructor of our 7 adult fitness classes, and the lead personal trainer for any adult fitness clients.
Responsibilities:
- Implement periodized training programs for a class containing a variety of different adults of various backgrounds
- lead a class of 15 or more by providing clear and concise coaching instructions
- Motivate and support our adult members to achieve their goals
- Monitor adult members form and technique and make corrections accordingly
- Execute a full fitness assessment including body composition, goal setting, nutritional guidance etc.
- Educate our adult members on the importance of nutrition for weight loss or muscle gain
Experience and qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in any exercise science, kinesiology, etc. is required
- NSCA-CSCS certification preferred (Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist)
- NSCA-CPT, NASM-PES, NASM-PT certifications are acceptable
- Any high school or collegiate sports experience is preferred but not required
Skills:
- A strong knowledge of exercise form, technique, modifications, and implementation.
- Ability to assess and prescribe a proper training program tailored to an adults lifestyle- Knowledge of human anatomy and exercise physiology
- Expert knowledge of a variety of workout circuits, movements, lifts, etc.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in a busy environment
- A team player
