Sales Training Director oversees an organization's sales training programs to support an effective and motivated sales force. Monitors participants' results and uses them to improve or enhance training and provide additional development programs. Additionally, Sales Training Director has strong knowledge and understanding of the organization's products, services, customers, competitors, and sales techniques. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Sales Training Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Sales Training Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.   • Position Summary

    The Director and Manager of Sales Training supports continuous learning through the facilitation of training and evaluation of new and existing sales programs.  They will work with sales management to review plans to attain growth initiatives, and potential strategies for performance improvement in order to ensure employees are trained and developed to meet the operational and strategic needs of the organization. 

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Responsible for creating a training program/curriculum to on-board and improve the productivity of the organization’s new hire sales employees as well as continued education for existing sales team.
    • Facilitate and conduct new hire orientation, onboarding classes, training sessions and new hire certifications as required
    • Work with sales stakeholders to review existing training materials and tools, and capture additional training information and document as needed
    • Assess training gaps within Sales department (material, delivery methods, length of training, refresher courses, etc.)
    • Utilize learning management system (LMS) to build e-learning modules
    • Creating training manuals, classroom activities, and other materials needed to deliver trainings
    • Engage with product and sales management to understand new training requirements. 
    • Coordinate new employee training schedules and document completion
    • Ensure all training content is up to date
    • Monitor and report training KPIs related to Sales Learning Path
    • Assists in the evaluation and content audits of sales training programs
    • Periodic market visit ride-alongs and ongoing infield education

     

    Ad-Hoc

    • Performs other duties as assigned in relation to training the Sales department.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in related field
    • 5 years minimum of experience directly related to training and development.
    • Experience implementing the Challenger Method
    • Knowledge of training methods, styles, and adult learning principles.
    • Experience facilitating and conducting training sessions
    • Experience working with e-learning platforms
    • Basic project management and time management sills, comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously
    • Ability to engage and collaborate across departments including product management and sales leadership
    • Experience in managing stakeholder expectations including KPIs
    • Knowledge of virtual platforms tools such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams
    • Highly effective in coaching and development with excellent skills in persuasive communication
