We are looking to train and develop a Sales Manager for hotels within the portfolio at Total Management Systems and will provide on the job training and support.
The right individual must be very comfortable assisting guests and have a guest service mindset. This person will feel comfortable quoting prices, upselling guests, presenting creative solutions when inventory is limited, and have a basic understanding of revenue management concepts. The ability to make reservations, create group blocks, general front desk billing provides a solid base for training as well.
Coordinating with the Sales Director by managing schedules, filing important documents and communicating relevant information. Ensuring the adequacy of sales-related equipment or material. Responding to complaints from customers and give after-sales support when requested.
Sales Coordinator is to provide the necessary support to the Sales Director. The successful candidate will become the point of reference for colleagues and customers alike, by keeping schedules and providing feedback, documentation and information.
The goal is to facilitate the team’s activities so as to maximize their performance and the solid and long-lasting development of the company.
Responsibilities:
· Always represent the hotel in a positive manner; smile.
· Responds promptly to all inquiries, leads and correspondence from prospects, customers and referrals within 24 hours.
· Dedicates majority of time to direct phone sales, email processing, internet prospecting and direct cold calls. You should be connecting with every business within a five-mile radius of the hotel at a minimum.
· Develops, calls on, makes personal visits, and maintains familiarity with differing market segments to target for solicitation. Examples include but are not limited to: state-based associations, corporations, educational institutions, industrial facilities, tour and travel companies, unions, professional organizations, sports teams, departments and retail establishments, and government agencies.
· Develops an intimate working knowledge of all hotel departments and functions, including Front Desk, Operations, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Accounting, Marketing and Sales in order to be fully versed in all the hotel can offer our guests.
· Maintains familiarity with and analyzes the competition from other hotels within the surrounding area. Stays abreast on industry trends and makes recommendations of changes which would affect operations.
· In charge of ensuring our hotel is properly advertised in local media, especially local maps. Keeps property website current with updated photos and service additions.
· Consistently meets and exceeds all established sales goals. Produce weekly reports of sales activities and progress that are to be given to Corporate and GM.
· Books meetings and conferences with an emphasis on up-selling guest rooms and additional amenities.
· Follows up on progress of group booking, such as room night pick up, rooming lists, and cut-off dates with the Front Office Supervisor to insure maximum occupancy every week.
· Responsible for soliciting local business and charitable groups to capitalize on revenue opportunities.
· Consistently report to work at the scheduled time in proper business attire and represent the hotel in a positive manner at all times.
· Reworks and tries to reinstitute old accounts.
· Maintain memberships and contacts with hotel industry associations. This means attending trade shows pertinent to assigned areas.
· Establishes and maintains up-to-date communication will all hotel staff.
· Follows up with all clients before, during, and after their function to insure customer satisfaction and repeat business. This means having accurate forecast and recap information.
· Properly maintains all files and accounts in accordance with the established guidelines. Follows and carry out all established office policies and procedures.
· Reacts promptly to requests from Corporate, General Manger and other members of upper management.
Requirements:
· Proven experience in sales; experience as a sales coordinator or in other administrative positions will be considered a plus;
· Good computer skills (MS Office)
· Excel
· Proficiency in English
· High Scholl DIploma
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Physical Requirements:
Standing/walking, talking on the phone, computer/typing, and lifting up to a maximum of 50 pounds are required daily.
