    REPORTS TO: Executive Director

    FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt

    PREPARED DATE: November 2024

    SUMMARY: Under supervision of the Executive Director, the Warehouse Manager will be responsible for overseeing the warehouse operation of the food & resource center.

    MISSION: We are a non-profit, faith-based ministry providing food to families in need in Edmond and surrounding communities. Our mission is to provide food and connect neighbors to resources through the love of Christ.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Create a safe, welcoming, and respectful atmosphere for clients and volunteers.
    • Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization daily.
    • Order food from the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma and local grocery stores based on food pantry needs.
    • Receive deliveries, assist with unloading (including pallets), verify orders, and sign shipping documents.
    • Work with volunteers to coordinate the stocking of shelves, sorting food donations, stocking the cooler and freezer, and rotating inventory according to First-In First-Out method.
    • Manage the warehouse operation and inventory according to standard food safety procedures.
    • Oversee the retail recovery program; schedule and receive deliveries from other local donors.
    • Maintain records of incoming food, including weighing retail recovery products and other donations.
    • Coordinate with local nonprofit partners who pick up food on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.
    • Contribute ideas on ways to improve or optimize warehouse processes and procedures.
    • Supervise a dedicated group of frequent volunteers who contribute to all warehouse operations.
    • Build and maintain strong working relationships with local grocery store managers.

    OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

    • - Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from volunteers, clients, donors, community organizations, and the general public.
    • – Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
    • Strong analytical skills required. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
    • – Proficient in MS Office applications with ability and willingness to learn new technological applications.
    • – Ability to take initiative and demonstrate leadership skills. Ability to work and communicate with people of diverse backgrounds. Ability to work in a team and within broad coalitions. Must be a self-starter who is driven and capable of keeping track of multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Must be highly organized with an ability to pay attention to detail; excellent interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships; strategic, creative, progressive thinker. Ability to learn, concentrate, think and work well with management, co-workers, and clients.

    ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    • Ability to operate box truck, pallet stacker, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment.
    • Must hold a valid driver’s license, good driving record, and reliable transportation (some local travel required).
    • Must be willing and able to drive Project 66 box truck (CDL not required)
    • Clearance of background investigation and drug screening.

    QUALIFICATIONS: Must be at least 21 years of age. Retail, warehouse, volunteer, or community service experience preferred.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: There may be extended periods of standing and/or bending; listening, talking and/or visual concentration; writing and/or computer use. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is moderate, but may be higher when operating equipment.

    Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

    SCHEDULE:

    Mondays 8:00 am – 3:00

    Tuesdays pantry closed

    Wednesdays 8:00 am – 3:00

    Thursdays 8:00 am – 3:00

    Total 25 hrs/wk

    COMPENSATION: $17.50-$20 per hour
