Hours: M-F; 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 pm.
Part time: 20 hours per week
Traditional school year: 10-month position (Late August through mid-June)
Starting pay range per hour: $17.16 – $20.83 (Commensurate with education and experience)
Reports to: School Nurse
General Description
The Health Office Aide assists the School Nurse by performing routine health-related tasks and clerical services, under the direction of the School Nurse, to aid in the health care needs of students and staff.
1. Works directly with the School Nurse to carry out specific tasks related to students’ health needs and infection control procedures.
2. Performs daily general first-aid procedures, under the direction of School Nurse.
3. Understands the health office aide’s role, which does not involve medical assessment, interpretation, or decision-making.
4. Assists with clerical tasks associated with mandated and recommended student health records.
5. Maintains appropriate training in AED, CPR, and First Aid on a yearly basis.
6. As designated by School Nurse, assists self-directed students to take assigned medications that are kept in the school health office.
7. Follows established procedures for care and reporting of injuries and illness.
8. Consults with the School Nurse regarding unusual or difficult problems.
