HireArt is helping a start-up biotech AI company hire a Lab Scientist to join the founding team and help play an expanding role in the company. In this role, you'll run molecular biology and protein engineering assays while also assisting running high-throughput protein binding screens. You will work with the computational team on experimental designs to assay AI-designed proteins.
We're looking for someone with a minimum of 2 years experience as a lab technician in the pharmaceutical space (specifically working with proteins). This candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented and is willing to take initiative.
As a Lab Scientist, you will:
- Run molecular biology assays (PCR, cloning, transformation).
- Run protein expression and characterization (bacteria and/or yeast protein expression, IMAC, stability characterization, ELISA).
- Perform DNA library preparation, cloning.
- Run in-vitro display screens (phage and/or yeast display).
- Perform NGS (next-gen sequencing) data collection and analysis.
- 2 years industry experience in a protein engineering position or graduate degree in Biology, Bioengineering, Biochemistry, or related fields
- Significant experience in designing, running and de-bugging standard molecular biology and protein engineering assays
- Highly organized and methodical, detail-oriented and takes initiative
- Familiar with Benchling and Quartzy
- Deep knowledge of physics, math, molecular biology, chemistry, etc.
- Graduate degree in Biology, Bio-engineering, Bio-chemistry, or related fields
- Experience with high-throughput assays (yeast display, phage display)
- Experience with surface plasmon resonance (SPR) or circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopy
