    Garden Market Manager will assist with seeking and securing grans and other funding to maintain and develop market activities. The Garden Market Manager will be trained in and familiar with GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) and Best Practices for growing, handling, and distribution of all products sold in the Garden Market.

    Duties

    • Manager is responsible for recruiting new and maintaining existing healthy relationships with producers.
    • Manager will play a vital role in the development/update of Standard Operating Procedures for all aspects of the Garden Market.
    • Supervise and lead a team of employees, including training and mentoring staff to enhance their skills and performance.
    • Manage cash handling processes, ensuring accuracy in transactions and adherence to financial protocols.
    • Oversee inventory management, including stock levels, ordering supplies, and conducting regular audits to maintain optimal inventory.
    • Develop pricing strategies that align with market trends and company goals to maximize sales opportunities.
    • Implement effective sales techniques to drive revenue growth while maintaining high standards of customer service.
    • Collaborate with upper management to set sales targets and develop action plans to achieve them.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as health and safety regulations within the market environment.

    Skills

    • Strong cash handling abilities with attention to detail in financial transactions.
    • Cash register operation and report software.
    • Daily bookkeeping and making deposits.
    • Grower contract/number assignment and sales tracking
    • Produce check-in and date monitoring.
    • EBT procedures, FMNP, WIC guidelines and USDA, WVDA, DHHR, health department and other guidelines.
    • Food safety issues and all applicable health guidelines.
    • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with team members and customers.
    • Proven experience in retail management, demonstrating the ability to lead a diverse team effectively.
    • Proficiency in pricing strategies that attract customers while maximizing profitability.
    • Exceptional team management skills, fostering collaboration and motivation among staff.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage stock levels efficiently.
    • Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Solid math skills for accurate financial reporting and inventory management.
    • Background in sales with a focus on achieving targets and driving business growth.
    • Experience as an assistant manager is advantageous but not required.
