Secretary to Chief Executive Officer provides administrative support in a variety of functions to the Chief Executive Officer that are focused on increasing the efficiency of the executive. Reviews, prioritizes, directs and delegates a wide variety of complex and confidential requests that are presented to the executive for consideration. Being a Secretary to Chief Executive Officer summarizes, prioritizes, and researches information into a concise and usable format for the executive to review. Responds to or routes priority or confidential inquiries from external or internal sources with correspondence or other messaging on behalf of the executive. Additionally, Secretary to Chief Executive Officer creates or directs creation of reports, charts, budgets and other presentation materials for the executive. Coordinates high level projects, travel arrangements, and meetings. May plan and schedule work and direct other staff to deliver support. Has a broad knowledge and understanding of the company's operations and business objectives. Requires an associate degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to the CEO. The Secretary to Chief Executive Officer contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.     BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:  This position is located in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), Office of Lottery & Gaming (OLG). The incumbent oversees the agency, providing executive leadership in establishing broad policies and objectives related to OLG's mission, and has primary responsibility for all financial, administrative, and program operations. Duties include, but are not limited to: overseeing, implementing, and authorizing all aspects of the agency's programs, policies, and procedures as it relates to administration, statutory compliance, security, revenue, sales goal achievement, marketing, game development, charitable gaming, licensing retailers and non-profit organizations and other functions; providing managerial expertise and guidance to facilitate effective program operations, innovations, management improvements and professional development; advising on broad issues related to financial compliance, regulation, business, organizational development, long and short-range planning and its effectiveness; representing the agency before local officials, legislative committees, executives and senior managers; establishing and maintaining relationships with industry colleagues, government officials, business leaders and other stakeholders; setting agency's budget, procurement objectives, and requirements; addressing community action groups, service clubs and professional organizations concerning the activities of the D.C. Lottery; and establishing and monitoring technology used to support the agency's gaming operations, financial reporting, audits and government compliance requirements. Performs other related duties as assigned. 

     Eight (8) years of progressive experience planning, directing and overseeing all aspects of a lottery’s financial, administrative and program operations. Proven experience motivating, developing and mentoring staff towards meeting the lottery’s vision, mission and goals. Excellent written, oral, and public speaking skills.
     Experience that provides the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for this position.
