Secretary to Chief Executive Officer provides administrative support in a variety of functions to the Chief Executive Officer that are focused on increasing the efficiency of the executive. Reviews, prioritizes, directs and delegates a wide variety of complex and confidential requests that are presented to the executive for consideration. Being a Secretary to Chief Executive Officer summarizes, prioritizes, and researches information into a concise and usable format for the executive to review. Responds to or routes priority or confidential inquiries from external or internal sources with correspondence or other messaging on behalf of the executive. Additionally, Secretary to Chief Executive Officer creates or directs creation of reports, charts, budgets and other presentation materials for the executive. Coordinates high level projects, travel arrangements, and meetings. May plan and schedule work and direct other staff to deliver support. Has a broad knowledge and understanding of the company's operations and business objectives. Requires an associate degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to the CEO. The Secretary to Chief Executive Officer contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.   • POSITION SUMMARY

    The CHRO reports to the CEO and serves as the on-site executive with organization-wide responsibility and authority for all areas related to human resources. This position is responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the human resource function; and oversees the ancillary departments of Education and Culinary Services. This position serves as a member of the organization’s senior management team which provides visionary and progressive direction to strategic and operational planning, quality, and financial decision-making.

    Responsible to provide for the safety and quality of care, treatment, and services of all patients by working with other leaders to review and approve policies and procedures, solve problems, manage conflict, maintain ethical standards, and ensure practices that promote safety and quality.

    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

    Education and Experience

    Bachelor’s degree in human resources administration, business administration, or related field. Must possess skills in: needs assessment, program development, training, labor relations, wage and benefit analysis and development, communications, program evaluation and planning.

    License/Certificates

    SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desired.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develop HR strategy and plans to support Riverwood’s mission and strategic vision.
    • Develops and/or interprets employment law, policies, and procedures.
    • Ensures that the highest standards of employment practices are advanced throughout all departments on a consistent basis in practice and performance.
    • Develop and implement comprehensive compensation and benefits plans that are competitive and cost-effective.
    • Provide overall leadership and guidance to the HR function by overseeing talent acquisition, career development, succession planning, retention, training, leadership development, compensation, and benefits. 
    • Develop comprehensive strategic recruiting and retention plans to meet the human capital needs of strategic goals.
    • Ensures consistency in the application of hiring criteria, including the selection procedures, recruitment practices, transfer processing, compensation arrangements and job posting practices.
    • Directs the design and administration of all employee benefit programs and ensures compliance with Federal and State regulations.
    • Oversees the grievance program for employees and acts as an advisor to all parties during various levels of the process based upon established policies and procedures.
    • Promotes positive employee relations facility-wide by developing and/or evaluating employee engagement and recognition.
    • Conducts investigation interviews as necessary for disciplinary or compliance issues and makes a final recommendation regarding the appropriate level of discipline or corrective action.
    • Develops and conducts appropriate management training curriculum to enhance management and supervisory skills.
    • Provides legal review, consultation and recommendations related to ADA, FMLA, Unemployment, Worker’s Compensation, discrimination and other employment related laws and regulations. Provides oversight to physician recruiting and orientation of physician staff to the organization.
    • Manages and interprets labor agreements and policies to promote positive employee relations and compliance throughout the organization. Ensures that the organization abides by the agreed upon settlements and renegotiates within contract expiration dates.
    • Responsible for participating in union meetings such as grievance meetings, negotiations, and mediation.
    • Ensures compliance with all pertinent regulatory agencies including but not limited to safeguarding security and confidentiality of data/information according to HIPAA guidelines.
    • Prepares annual departmental budgets that include capital equipment, personnel, and other departmental costs. Monitors each budget and expenditures on an ongoing basis.
    • Promotes positive working relationships with staff, other departments, providers, public, other health care facilities, and community agencies.
    • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with supervisor, Governing Board, practitioners, coworkers, subordinates, patients, families, and others by promoting customer service and demonstrating polite, cooperative, and respectful behavior.
