Security Coordinator administers, coordinates, and evaluates security programs that support the strategy, policies, and standards established for the physical safety of all visitors, employees, or customers to the organization's facilities and the security of property and assets. Compiles data and analyzes results of audits, inspections, daily logs, and incident reports to assess security vulnerabilities, measure program effectiveness, and identify the need for additional resources. Being a Security Coordinator coordinates any required security clearance processing or investigative research for employees or job candidates with applicable entities. Assists with the development of training, education programs, and communications on security policies and topics to ensure staff is prepared for potential security issues, crisis response, disaster recovery, evacuation, workplace violence, and other emergency events. Additionally, Security Coordinator monitors communications and stays informed about local, state, provincial, or federal security-related information, directives, and events. May coordinate or assist with investigations and critical event responses in coordination with law enforcement and other officials. Understands law enforcement methods, tactics, and procedures. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Security Coordinator work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group. A specialist on complex technical and business matters. To be a Security Coordinator typically requires 7+ years of related experience.     Description

    The Food Security Coordinator will oversee the direct service component of the GLCAC Food Pantry including the weekly preparation and food distribution to clients. Coordinates all deliveries/pickups, and supervises food pantry employees and volunteers, including VISTA Volunteers and college interns. Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for all relevant administrative tasks, including documenting key metrics for the Food Pantry, submitting monthly reports, ordering inventory and supplies online, and continuing procurement efforts in the community in the form of establishing and expanding partnerships and collaboration.

    Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities: 

    • Welcome clients and operate the food pantry distribution to a diverse client population.
    • Provide direct assistance to clients to ensure efficient operations and service delivery. 
    • Coordinate food deliveries to clients and special orders. 
    • Oversee food pantry employees and volunteers during food preparation and distribution ensuring clients are adhering to guidelines.
    • Supervise food pantry employees and volunteers for both stocking the pantry and assisting with distribution. 
    • Establish outreach efforts with other food pantries and foster partnerships with volunteer organizations. 
    • Document all food pantry activities including weekly and monthly visits, and manage database of all clients and volunteers.
    • Complete monthly reports as required. 
    • Serve as a friendly and reliable point of contact for all inquiries and community partnerships.
    • Coordinate special food pantry events and holiday celebrations. 
    • Coordinate media exposure to reach clients and obtain donations. 
    • Ensure the pantry is up to code to adhere to the City of Lawrence, GLCAC, MEFAP, and USDA standards.
    • Keep pantry clean, stocked and well-organized. 
    • Other duties as assigned

    Skills & Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred with two years of related experience preferred; Associate’s degree with five plus years of related experience required.  
    • Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with fellow volunteers, staff, and occasionally challenging clients.
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently are necessary.
    • Strong supervisory skills and proven prior Program Coordinator experience is required. 
    • Computer proficiency and accuracy, including intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel spreadsheet capabilities. 
    • Ability to work effectively with and meet the needs of people from a diverse range of backgrounds, cultures, and identities, including underserved communities and people from the different racial groups, socioeconomic statuses, nationalities, and languages that make up GLCAC’s clientele, to support the agency’s mission of building a more diverse, equitable and inclusive organization for employees and clients alike.

     

    Special Requirements:

    • Experience in cultivating and expanding community partnerships.
    • Ability to work effectively with diverse cultural groups and socio-economic backgrounds.
    • Sensitivity to the needs of the client population.
    • Available to work a minimum of one Saturday on a monthly basis
    • Bilingual (Spanish and English) preferred. 
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Must have a suitable CORI & SORI completed within the first 30 days of employment.
    • Serve Safe Certification preferred.
    • Ability to work effectively with and meet the needs of people from a diverse range of backgrounds, cultures, and identities, including underserved communities and people from the different racial groups, socioeconomic statuses, nationalities, and languages that make up GLCAC’s clientele, to support the agency’s mission of building a more diverse, equitable and inclusive organization for employees and clients alike.

    Supervisory Responsibility:  Supervise food pantry employees and volunteers for both stocking the pantry and assisting with distribution.

     

    Travel:  Is required; must have a current and valid Massachusetts Class D Motor Vehicle Operator’s license or equivalent from another state.

     

    Physical Demands: This job regularly requires the employee to sit, walk and stand as well as use hands repetitively to handle or operate standard office equipment. The employee is occasionally required to kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

     

    Work Environment: Willingness to perform physical labor including lifting, carrying, unloading and moving of food products.
