SECURITY SUPERVISOR supervises a team of security guards that ensure the physical safety of all visitors, employees, or customers to the organization's facilities and the security of property and assets. Schedules security guard staff shifts. Being a SECURITY SUPERVISOR assigns guards to patrol and inspect of buildings and grounds. Ensures protection from intruders, fire hazards, theft, and vandalism. Additionally, SECURITY SUPERVISOR monitors security systems and responds to alarms, reports of issues, or requests for assistance. Ensures that all security events are logged, documented, and reported using standard procedures. Trains staff on policies and procedures for crisis response, disaster recovery, evacuation, workplace violence, and other emergency events. Updates team on local, state, provincial, or federal security-related information, directives, and events. Assists with investigations and critical event responses in coordination with law enforcement and other officials. Understands law enforcement methods, tactics, and procedures. Requires a high school diploma. Requires Basic Life Support (BLS). Typically reports to a manager. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Post Supervisor to join our team. The Post Supervisor will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of client facilities, employees, and visitors. This position requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. **Supervise Security Officers:** Provide guidance, support, and direction to security officers on duty, ensuring they adhere to company policies and procedures.
2. **Security Post Management:** Oversee the allocation of security officers to various posts, ensuring appropriate coverage and response times.
3. **Training and Development:** Conduct training sessions for security officers, addressing topics such as emergency procedures, first aid, and conflict resolution.
4. **Incident Response:** Coordinate and respond to security incidents, emergencies, and alarms. Report and document incidents as required.
5. **Patrols and Inspections:** Conduct regular patrols and inspections of the premises to identify security vulnerabilities and maintain a visible security presence.
6. **Report Generation:** Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on security activities, incidents, and compliance with security protocols.
7. **Equipment Maintenance:** Ensure that all security equipment, including surveillance cameras, alarms, and access control systems, are in good working order.
8. **Customer Service:** Provide excellent customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors while maintaining a secure environment.
9. **Emergency Response Planning:** Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans and drills.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in security, with 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Valid BSIS license.
- Strong knowledge of security procedures and emergency response protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and security software.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
