Server serves food and beverages to the customers promptly and follows the standards set by the facility. Explains menu item and terms and provides suggestions to customers when asked. Being a Server may require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Server may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Responsibilities:
- Greet and seat customers in a friendly and timely manner
- Take food and drink orders accurately and efficiently
- Deliver food and beverages to tables in a timely manner
- Provide excellent customer service, ensuring customer satisfaction
- Upsell menu items and promote daily specials
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Assist with bussing tables and resetting them for the next guests
- Process payments using cash register or POS system
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure accurate and timely order delivery
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a server or in the restaurant industry preferred
- Knowledge of culinary terms and menu items
- Strong upselling skills to increase sales
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
- Proficient in basic math for handling payments and making change
- Ability to sanitize tables, chairs, and other surfaces to maintain cleanliness standards
- Familiarity with cash register or POS systems for processing payments
- Familiarity with reservation systems such as OpenTable is a plus
