Follows blueprints, rough sketches, or engineer drawings to shape metal accurately. Being a Sheetmetal Mechanic uses hand and power tools to shape, cut, and smooth metal and to blend seams. May set up and operate soldering and welding equipment. Additionally, Sheetmetal Mechanic typically requires a high school diploma. Typically requires a Sheetmetal Apprenticeship. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Sheetmetal Mechanic works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Overview:
We are seeking several Duct Fabricators/Insulators to join our team. As a Duct Fabricator/Insulator, you will be responsible for constructing and assembling sheet metal duct work and attaching insulation panels making (IMP) Insulated Metal Panels according to blueprints and specifications. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical skills and attention to detail.
Duties:
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and drawings
- Measure, cut, shape, and bend metal using various tools and equipment
- Operate tools to fabricate metal parts
- Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient production processes
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sheet Metal Fabricator/Insulator or similar role
- Proficient in blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings
- Strong knowledge of metalworking techniques and equipment operation
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools effectively
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in workmanship
- Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy materials
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team
