Follows blueprints, rough sketches or engineer drawings to shape metal accurately. Being a Sheetmetal Mechanic uses hand and power tools to shape and smooth metal and to blend seams. May set up and operate soldering and welding equipment. Additionally, Sheetmetal Mechanic may require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Sheetmetal Mechanic may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.
