Sheetmetal Mechanic jobs in Rock Hill, SC
Sheetmetal Mechanic sets up and operates machines such as drill presses, punch presses, saws, shears, bending rolls, brakes, grinders, and numerical control equipment to shape and alter sheetmetal according to specifications. Follows blueprints, rough sketches, or engineer drawings to shape metal accurately. Being a Sheetmetal Mechanic uses hand and power tools to shape, cut, and smooth metal and to blend seams. May set up and operate soldering and welding equipment. Additionally, Sheetmetal Mechanic typically requires a high school diploma. Typically requires a Sheetmetal Apprenticeship. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Sheetmetal Mechanic works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Job Requirements and Duties:
- High School diploma
- Maintenance and troubleshooting of manufacturing and packaging equipment control systems
- PLC and HMI
- GMP or Pharmaceutical environment
- 2 plus years of manufacturing industry experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills
- Proven experience as maintenance technician
- Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on various equipment and systems.
- Experience in planning maintenance operations
- Ensure all machinery is up to working standards
- Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities
- Design all preventive maintenance programs
- Resolve all maintenance issues
- Extensive knowledge in a variety of mechanical systems
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong leadership abilities with the ability to supervise a team if required.
