Ship Engineer repairs and maintains gasoline and diesel engines in boats, such as yachts, tugs, and trawlers, following specifications. May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience in the field. Being a Ship Engineer is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Additionally, Ship Engineer performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision; typically reports to a supervisor or manager. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.     Job Description:
    The Ship Supervisor will work in an office in a shipyard located in or near Piraeus, Perama, Salamina, or Elefsina Greece as a member of the project team managing repairs and maintenance
    on four ships over a 10 month period. This position will support the Program Manager, who will be onsite. The Ship Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the shipyard completes all work items on each assigned ship. This position manages the work on one ship at a time, however, there will be some overlap of work as one ship completes and the second ship enters production. The work schedule is Monday-Friday from 6am to 2:30pm including 30 minutes for lunch. Work may be required after 2:30pm or on weekends to maintain production schedules.

    Responsibilities:
    • Develop or maintain schedules for production, tests, meetings, and inspections
    • Manage tests, meetings, and inspections.
    • Monitor production, testing, quality assurance, quality control, and safety activities of the shipyard on the assigned ship
    • Control the flow of Condition Found Reports, Inspection Reports, and status reports for assigned ships
    • Plan, run, and document ongoing production status meetings for assigned ships
    • Track production progress, deliverables, risks, issues, actions, purchases, and shipments
    • Identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate risks
    • Organize and maintain files and databases
    • Manage communication including emails and phone calls

    Qualifications:
    • 5-7 years of marine industrial project supervision experience
    • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office 365 Enterprise (SharePoint, OneNote, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Comfortable with routinely shifting demands
    • Ability to adjust work hours to support production schedules
    • Competent in use of IT hardware including computers, printers, scanners, and tablets
