Documents damages and discrepancies for future reimbursement and reconciliation. Additionally, Shipping and Receiving Clerk typically requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to supervisor. The Shipping and Receiving Clerk possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Qualifications:
- Maintain necessary files and documentation.
- Utilizes small hand tools and operate scales, metering machines, etc. and primarily use hand trucks to move materials around.
- Typical shipping activities include: checking goods against shipping documents and authorizations, packing goods for shipment according to specifications, preparing bills of lading, posting weight and shipping charges and attach information and shipping instructions on to boxes.
- Typical activities related to the receiving materials include: unpacking of goods; checking against bills of lading, packing slips, etc., identification and quantity; maintaining records of goods received; rejects damaged, excess or misdirected goods, routes material to inspection, stores or other destinations.
- May require operation of a forklift truck.
- Job requires ability to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
