Description

• Work in a safe manner, identifying hazards while ensuring all applicable safety standards are met. 
• Ensure customers receive accurate, properly packed quality product in a timely manner while practicing FIFO and maintaining location control.
• Safely and efficiently load and unload freight carriers with forklift, pallet jack and/or hand-truck.
• Receive deliveries following our 10 rules for receiving freight and distribute to the applicable area.
• Maintain clean and orderly work areas.
• Other duties as assigned and in accordance with Latham’s job matrix responsibilities.

• High School Diploma or GED required. 
• Basic math skills.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills in English, written and verbal.
• Work effectively and independently in a fast paced and changing environment with multiple priorities.
• Ability to work independently and with teams.
• Detail oriented.
• Accurate data entry/typing skills.  Basic computer skills are a plus.
• Minimum one-year warehousing/shipping/receiving experience.
• Prior forklift experience on both stand-up and sit down forklifts, hoists & pallet jacks. 
• Ability to pass all fork lift associated course required by New York State and OSHA.
• Ability to periodically lift up to 40 pounds, stand for long periods of time and work in various weather conditions
• Ability to understand, follow and adhere to company policies, quality assurance programs, procedures and safety standards.
• Must be able to work overtime when necessary, including weekends.
• Must be able to demonstrate good working habits to include following fluctuating break schedules and maintaining proper attendance in accordance with Latham’s policy.
• Required to talk and listen, frequently required to stand, walk, bend, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, work in varying temperatures, and lift up to 40 pounds.
