Shipping Coordinator jobs in Durham, NC

General Summary: Directs and coordinates, through subordinate hourly personnel, the daily activities for the Shipping Department.

Essential Functions: Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Assist Shipping Manager by identifying work procedures, prepares work schedules and expedite workflow.
• Issue written and oral instructions.
• Communicate with customer to coordinate the shipping of product.
• Schedule carriers for pick up.
• Complete Spot orders as required for every load.
• Assign loading priority and ensure we are loading efficiently.
• Pull transfers and pack transfers as needed.
• Pull, pack and Shop Vue Common Color parts as needed.
• Load trucks and take pictures of every pallet they load as required. (Forklift Licenses Required)
• Audit outgoing pallets to ensure they are packaged in a manner that gives the best chance of reaching the customer damage free.
• Looks for large orders on the floor by looking ahead to determine when to loading schedule
• Orders supplies.
• Responsible for housekeeping and maintaining a clean, professional, and safe working environment, both inside and outside.
• Enforcing company polices and maintains good employee relations.
• Coordinates with packing supervisors to keep an open area to storing pallets waiting to be stretch wrapped.
• Makes sure RGA’s are broke down properly with correct id on parts and return to proper areas and documenting damages.
• Assures all doors on the dock are closed and locked at the end of the day.

Other Functions:

• Other duties as assigned by Shipping Manager.
• Helps load trucks.

Qualification/Requirements;

• Ability to read, analyze and interpret written instructions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.

Education/Training/Experience:

• Prefer some college with minimum four years leadership experience in shipping environment or applicable experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
