Job Summary:
Audubon Metals is seeking a highly motivated and organized Shipping Coordinator to join our dynamic team. As the Shipping Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our shipping department. You will be responsible for tracking shipments, inventory, and ensuring all orders are processed accurately and on time.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Follow safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Coordinate aspects of the shipping process such as picking loads, preapproval samples, and scheduling of shipments.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of shipping documents.
- Collaborate with the warehouse team to prioritize and schedule shipments based on customer orders and delivery deadlines.
- Communicate with carriers, freight forwarders, and couriers to arrange and track shipments, ensuring timely delivery to customers.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels to prevent shortages and overages and report any discrepancies to the appropriate department.
- Use computer systems to control and monitor shipping operations.
- Manage and maintain shipping records and documentation, including tracking numbers, delivery confirmations, and shipment logs.
- Resolve any shipping-related issues or discrepancies in a timely manner, working closely with the customer service and operations teams.
- Work with other team members to ensure the efficient completion of tasks.
- Report all equipment failures to the Shipping Department Manager.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Accurately label and document shipments using appropriate documentation.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure that shipments meet the required specifications and match packing lists.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely processing of shipments.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area, always following safety guidelines and practices.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to shipping and receiving activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Strong team-building skills, with a proactive and positive attitude.
- Proven experience in shipping operations, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve operational issues efficiently.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet production deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to provide clear instructions and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
- Visual Alertness/Attentiveness - Must be able to remain visually alert to surroundings in the department.

- Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Math – The ability to compute and understand basic math.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Additional technical certifications or relevant vocational training is preferred.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time in a hot or cold environment.
- Standard shift is 8 hours.
- Must be able to frequently move, lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 10 lbs.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, crawl, squat, sit, balance, twist at the waist & neck, and/or crouch to perform work over the duration of the shift.
- Must be able to function in a loud, dusty, hot, cold, or humid environment for the duration of the shift.
