Shipping Specialist jobs in Atlantic City, NJ
Shipping Specialist prepares shipping documentation and processes orders. Coordinates the preparation and organization of bills of lading, packing slips, invoices, and required export licenses or compliance documents. Being a Shipping Specialist utilizes enterprise resource planning (ERP) or other systems to record and track all shipping transactions. Troubleshoots shipping delays or changes with carriers and communicates to customers. Additionally, Shipping Specialist ensures shipping protocols and documentation meet required regulatory requirements for hazardous materials (DOT/HAZMAT) or special handling. Investigates and resolves shipping non-conformance. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Shipping Specialist works under moderate supervision. Essential Job Responsibilities
Our Shipping Specialists will need to have the ability to:
Preparing materials and packaging prescriptions as specified per business line
Answer phone calls and transfer to the proper department within the pharmacy
Operate a computer to ring prescriptions out of the register and create a shipping label
Ship prescriptions using the appropriate carrier
Add tracking information to appropriate applications to be sent to patients
Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
Current pharmacy technician registration preferred
Basic mathematics skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure
Effective computer and keyboarding skills
Working knowledge of pharmacy information systems
Strong communication skills, both written and oral
Strong prioritization skills and an ability to make decisions independently and effectively
Able to operate equipment such as computers, scan guns, tablet counters, and cash registers
Familiarity with pharmacy practice settings, legal requirements and limitations, prescription information and calculations, drug identification and generic equivalents, drug manufacturing, packaging and labeling information, and proper drug handling and storage practices preferred
